Our annual Valentines Day Dinner was held on February the 14th at Angela's on the River in beautiful downtown St. Albans. Everyone had a great time and as usual the food was excellent but the service was a little slow. I think that's understandable since they had to serve 33 people all at the same time. Next year I think we will ask them to do a buffet. I've been to functions there when the food was served buffet style and it was excellent.
I welcomed everyone to the dinner and expressed my gratitude for the attendance. It seems like every time we have a function the number of people grows and this year was no exception. I am honored that you allow me to be your President. I told a little story about Gayle and me going to Phoenix when I was a salesman for MicroAge Computers. I enjoyed telling it and I got a couple of laughs, probably courtesy laughs but all laughs are appreciated.
Thanks to Ken Rubin for making all the arrangements. Well done Ken!
Thanks also to Cindra Justice for putting together the door prizes. As you know, last year we had one big door prize. This year we had three smaller door prizes. They were very nice and greatly appreciated by the winners. Kim Gibson won the wine glasses with “I love British Cars” engraved on them along with a bottle of wine from Falcor winery in Napa, CA, Angie Chenoweth won a Blenko water pitcher and a very artistic Blenko suncatcher. Prema Ray won the grand prize which was a very attractive Vera Bradley bag. And each of our beautiful ladies received a long stem red rose.
Charlie Justice was our official photographer and his photos are below.
We've got a great bunch of people in our club. Thanks for all you do. Now let's get ready for the summer driving season.
